Antoine Volodine, born in 1949, is a French writer who has published around fifteen books that establish "post-exotism", a unique literary universe where dreamlike surrealism, political themes, and dark humor fuel all fiction.
His novel Des anges mineurs (1999) won both the Wepler Prize and the Prix du Livre Inter in 2000, while Terminus radieux (2014) earned him the Prix Médicis.
After teaching Russian literature - which he also translates - Volodine now dedicates himself fully to his writing. He has created numerous works for radio (France Culture), and his expansive fictional world now includes over thirty titles. He resides in Orléans and frequently travels to the East, particularly Macao and Hong Kong.
